Thugs of Hindostan

Thugs of Hindosthan, gives us no reason to not book tickets for it,

Aamir khan’s almost once a year appearance on silver screen, The Amitabh Bachchan playing as a pirate, The talented Dangal girl – Fatima Sana Shaikh, as one of the leads and item songs by Katrina Kaif, and all of this under YRF banner which assures extra-vagant factor to everything.

The story begins in the late 1700s, where a conspiratorial british officer called Clive betrays a true Indian king, Ronit Roy.His young daughter Zafira (Fatima Sheikh) is saved by trusted lieutenant Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan) who trains her with their only mission for the country to be ‘Azad’.

As the movie opens, Aamir khan named as ‘ Firangi’, who is very much Indian, is an absolutely non- trustworthy rogue. He is introduced as an interesting character,  but, as the story progresses, he gets messier and confusing just like the script. The expectations from Mr. perfectionist soar to stratospheric levels.

Katrina Kaif, in her sexier-than-ever body seemed more just like a decorative piece in the house this Diwali, which means, she only fulfils the stereotype trend of typical Bollywood films having item songs, just like other songs of this movie are easily forgettable.

With the actors doing their job smoothly, considerable vfx, advantageous release during the festive time and adding every other ingredient perfect to make this package blockbuster, the producer forgot to focus on the main thing that is the story line which is read, seen & heard a lot of times.

The only new factor in this old revenge tale of indians against the East india company is the theme of pirates  which doesn’t quite fit into the context.

The screen play is stretched a little too much with it’s multiple twists which land up to the expected conclusion after a whole 3 hours. The film does manage to look and feel like a million bucks, but  sadly doesn’t match the same way.

Rating: 2/5

Overall: It is a tolerable one time watch family movie, given you leave your expectations behind.

While there are a lot of exaggerated memes, Below are the few which pretty much describe the movie on point.
